Heritage welcomes new president,
Dr. John Bassett.
A New President, A New Era for Heritage
Heritage University welcomes its second president, Dr. John Bassett. He was selected by the Heritage Board of Directors after a year-long search for a successor to the University’s founding president, Dr. Kathleen Ross, who had served since 1982. Prior to coming to Heritage, Dr. Bassett served as president of Clark University in Worcester, MA.
“Heritage University has always been fortunate to have as president a nationally recognized leader and a visionary committed to bringing higher education within the reach of those who have the desire and commitment to succeed,” says Paul Moulton, Heritage University’s chairman of the board. “Dr. Bassett brings the skills, experience and unique abilities that make him the perfect person to lead Heritage at this important time in our history.”
Prior to his role as president of Clark University, Bassett was dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and an English professor at Case Western Reserve in Cleveland. Currently, he also is vice chairman and chair-elect of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.
Welcome, Dr. Bassett. Heritage looks forward to your building on the work of Dr. Ross and leading us to more great achievements in the future.
