We truly appreciate every gift in support of Heritage students and programs. By investing in Heritage, you are also investing in a positive future for our communities.

Please select one of the options below for information on how you can support Heritage:

Ways to Give

Types of Gifts

Annual Fund

General Scholarship Fund

In an area where per-capita income is $15,000 a year and 20% of the population lives below the federal poverty line, most of our students rely on financial aid to attend the University. Scholarships and financial aid are critical to the academic success of our students—most of whom come from families of extremely limited means, and the majority of whom continue to work full time during their college studies. The Heritage University General Scholarship Fund is used to fund a variety of corporate and individual gift scholarships for eligible Heritage students.

Unrestricted Gifts

Unrestricted gifts are utilized for the general operating needs of the University. This fund helps fill needs in areas such as technology, library services, physical plant maintenance, and academic program development.

Endowed Scholarships

Over 75% of our students receive financial aid, and an even greater number are eligible for financial assistance. Many of our students simply cannot attend college without additional financial support. Endowed scholarships make it possible for these students to earn a university degree here in the Valley.

Your gift of $10,000 or more (spread over five years if you choose) establishes an endowed scholarship that will help Heritage University students for years to come. You may establish the scholarship in your own name, or in any other name you wish to memorialize. The Scholarship Committee of Heritage University will select the recipients and award the scholarship based on criteria you help to establish. The scholarship endowment will remain open for other contributions to the fund.

Cash Gifts

Cash gifts are one of the easiest ways to invest in Heritage. Also, because of charitable tax deductions, a cash gift can be made at a lower net cost to the donor.

Please send your cash gifts to:

Advancement Office
Heritage University
3240 Fort Road
Toppenish, WA 98948

Please indicate how you would like your gift allocated (General Scholarship Fund, Unrestricted Gift, or Endowed Scholarship). You can also let us know how you would like your name to appear in our recognition records. You will receive an official gift receipt for your record once your gift has been processed.

Stock Gifts

Please contact the Advancement Department to discuss your intended gift.

Matching Gifts

Many companies will contribute matching funds to add to the value of your gift to Heritage. If you work for a company with a matching gift program, please ask your personnel office for a matching gift form.

In-Kind Gifts

In addition to gifts of stock or cash, you may also donate valuable items such as artwork, books, equipment, and furniture. For donations intended expressly for the exempt purposes of Heritage University (such as a computer to the Information Technology department), the donor is entitled to a charitable deduction for the full fair market value of the property. Donations that are unrelated to the exempt purposes of the institution (such as an antique for a scholarship dinner auction), the donor is entitled to a deduction only for his or her investment in the property. Donations of items created by the donor (such as a sculpture made by the donor), the donor’s deduction is limited to the actual cost of materials used.

If you are interested in making an in-kind donation, please contact the Advancement office before initiating your gift to discuss how your contribution will meet the University’s needs.
