Heritage University Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Program Clinical Experience
The year-long Community-Based Clinical Experience (I, II, III) provides the student with access to infant, child, adolescent, adult, and elderly patients who present for acute, chronic, emergent, and preventive medical issues within inpatient, outpatient, and surgical settings. The student will be educated and mentored by medical clinicians who specialize in family medicine, internal medicine (inpatient & outpatient), obstetrics/gynecology/women’s health, pediatrics, surgery, behavioral health, emergency medicine, and other specialties. Students will be placed within a primary care specialty for their entire clinical year and complete required and elective specialty rotations arranged in 2-6 week blocks throughout the year. A typical schedule would include the PA Student being in primary care for 2-3 days per week and in specialty rotations in the other 2-3 days per week in blocks of 6 weeks.
