SUMMARY:A Bigger Bite of the Apple: History\, Culture\, and the Latinx Experience in Washington State
DESCRIPTION:FREE VIRTUAL LECTURE IN CELEBRATION OF HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH\nThe Chicano and Latino community in Washington State is easily traced to the 19th century. However\, permanent viable communities began to emerge in the 1920-1930s. Since that period\, not only has this population grown dramatically\, but has made distinct contributions to the development of Washington. This presentation will trace the history of this community from the early twentieth century to present. We will explore the history\, culture\, and contributions of the largest underrepresented group in the state of Washington. \nDR.
