Carolyn Nelson: Conversations with the Wind March 30 – April 30
You are invited to share in this special exhibition of works by Carolyn Nelson, professor emerita and former Heritage University Fine Arts chair.
Carolyn will share paintings and ceramic sculptures that combine figurative imagery with references to the natural and human-built environment to express and explore her relationship with the natural and spiritual world. She often incorporates her love of the surrounding landscape of the sage steppe surrounding her home in Ahtanum Valley outside of Yakima.
She earned an MFA in painting from Central Washington University and a BA in Anthropology from the University of Washington. In addition to the exhibit, Carolyn is donating two of her works to be a part of the university’s permanent art collection.
