Meet Our Sahaptin Language Professor
My name is Tuwalatin, Gregory Sutterlict, and I am from the Yakama Nation and Chehalis tribe.
The Yakama people call their language Ichishkin, and I enjoy working with it in any way that I can. I enjoy working with people of all ages and all levels on learning Ichishkin. I like to create new material and methods to help teach complicated linguistic concepts to the average person. I want to help start more events, programs and trainings that will help aid in the revitalization of Ichishkin.
Greg is a father of three and has been working for Heritage and Yakama Nation Head Start since 2009. He is also involved with the University of Oregon in the Linguistics PhD program.
