Rick Brunk is a practicing Mental Health Professional and educator in Washington and Oregon States with over forty years of experience working in a variety of settings, including colleges and universities, inpatient and outpatient psychiatric facilities, crisis outreach programs, correctional facilities, a private practice, and training programs for First Responders.  Rick currently serves as an adjunct faculty member at Corban University, a Disruptive Event Management Consultant, and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in private practice. He served as a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Certification Training Coordinator and continues to provide instruction to first responders as requested.  Rick co-directed the Northwest Batterer Intervention Program, working with men in custody and on probation in the community, and was instrumental in developing a longitudinal study for the Oregon Department of Corrections aimed at evaluating the efficacy of the program for adults in custody who were to be released to the community. He served as lead in expanding mental health services to adults in custody in a 700-bed county jail.  He served as lead of the Northeast Oregon Critical Response Team (NEOCRT), providing Critical Incident Stress Debriefing to First Responders.  Rick is trained in Clinical Supervision. He is licensed as a Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. He is certified as a Child and Adolescent Treatment Specialist and a Nationally Certified Counselor. 

Rick volunteers as Director of Compassionate Ministries at Richland Church of the Nazarene. He is on the “Tech Team” at Kingwood Bible Church in Salem, OR, serves as a group facilitator in the Tri-Cities Union Gospel Mission New Life Recovery Program, and serves in food services at UGM in Pasco, WA, and Salem, OR.
