Haley Delgado is an Assistant Professor in the Nursing Department at Heritage University and serves as the Director of the Pathways to Opportunity Program, a U.S. Department of Education funded initiative aimed at improving nursing student recruitment, retention, and success. A first-generation Latina scholar from Central Washington, Haley is deeply committed to advancing health equity and educational access for rural and underserved communities.
Her research focuses on maternal health, family nutrition, and childhood obesity risk among rural Latino families, using community-engaged and qualitative methods. She integrates public health and nursing perspectives to examine how social, familial, and structural factors influence health behaviors and outcomes.
Haley brings extensive experience in grant management, community-based research, and student mentorship. At Heritage University, she teaches courses in rural health and community-based participatory research, supporting students in developing critical inquiry and leadership skills to serve their communities.
