Education Administration Program

Dr. Catherine Zeisner is a proud Canadian scholar-practitioner joining Heritage University in 2024. Over twenty years in PK-12 educational settings, Catherine taught French, PE, multiple grade levels, and special education. Moving into formal leadership as an ADHD program director, vice-principal, learning superior, and school principal, Catherine proved that relationships are the key to school success by bridging the gaps between what’s needed and what’s possible. Catherine believes all students can learn and all educators can thrive in our diverse educational settings.

Working in higher education, Catherine has taught undergrad, masters, and doctoral candidates in education and educational leadership. Multiple research publications and presentations around the world grounds Catherine in social-emotional learning and principal leadership work using mostly qualitative methods.

Catherine demonstrates her belief in the power of resiliency and positivity by personally conquering cancer and completing multiple marathons. She is the recipient of many awards for teaching and leading and now completing her first solo book project on the experiences of child-free educators.
