As part of the Faculty Scholarship/Research Series at Heritage University, Yusuf Incetas, Ph.D. will present “The Gulen Pedagogy: Gulen-inspired Educators and Philosophical Perceptions on Education.”
The Gulen Movement, a.k.a. Hizmet Movement, is a Turkey-based movement. Fethullah Gulen, the founder of the movement, is an Islamic scholar and a retired imam who values education. Under his guidance, the movement became a global phenomenon and operations over 1,000 schools in many countries around the world. In the United States, there are around 140 schools with Gulen-inspired educators. This presentation will cover Gulen’s philosophy on education and how Gulen-inspired educators perceive this philosophy. The recent political developments affecting the movement will be covered as well.
