Heritage University founding president Sister Kathleen Ross will be the keynote speaker for the 9th Annual Toppenish Peace March, taking place on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, January 21, 2019.
The Peace March is sponsored by Yakima Valley Farmworkers Clinic, Toppenish School District, Community Safety Network of Toppenish, the City of Toppenish and Heritage University.
The march will start with a gathering at 10:00 a.m. in the O’Reilly parking lot located at 300 West First Avenue in Toppenish. At 10:30 a.m., participants will march to Toppenish Middle School located at 104 Goldendale Avenue. A program including a keynote speech by Sister Kathleen will take place at the middle school.
HU Student Life and HU Student Government Association is encouraging all students, faculty and staff to participate in the Peace March.
