Scholarship Recipients
Yosi graduated from Eisenhower High School. Yosi is majoring in education and hopes to one day become a high school teacher.
Elida is a graduate of Grandview High School. She’s currently a freshman studying nursing. While she wants to become a registered nurse, Elida plans to go to medical school to become a doctor.
Erick graduated from Eisenhower High School, and is a freshman at Heritage University. Erick hopes to one day be a business owner and open up a childcare center as well as a construction company.
Bianca is from Wapato and is studying education at Heritage University. She’s passionate about education, and hopes to give back to her community by becoming a teacher.
Martha lives in Yakima and is a transfer student from Yakima Valley College. She is originally from Jalisco, Mexico and came to the United States in 1980. She is a proud mother of three children ages 28, 19 and 15. Martha hopes to eventually earn a bachelor’s and master’s degree in social work.
Reina attended Wapato High School and spent her last two years in high school in the Running Start program at Yakima Valley College. Reina is majoring in criminal justice and eventually wants to earn a Ph.D. in forensic science. Reina hopes to one day work for the FBI.
Rosa is a freshman studying social work at Heritage University. She is from Moxee and graduated from East Valley High School. Rosa also earned an associate’s degree from Yakima Valley College. She plans to become a social worker and advocate for children and students who need help in achieving academic success.
Jacqueline graduated from Sunnyside High School. She’s a freshman studying mathematics and wants to become a mathematics teacher. But Jacqueline won’t stop there, she wants to eventually become an administrator or principal.
Elizabeth graduated from Sunnyside High School and hopes to earn a doctorate and work in the science or medical field. She hopes to stay in Washington and live close to her family.
