Applied Linguistics
The English post-graduate certificate provides a goal for students seeking additional credentials (such as endorsements or coursework to support job applications for faculty development) but already have a master’s degree.
College Preparatory Programs

Educational Administration Certificate
This course of study is open for those who have a minimum of three years of teaching and/or educational staff associate experience (for principal certification), hold a master’s degree in an appropriate educational field, and desire a Washington State Principal or Program Administrator Residency Certification.
English/Language Arts Certificate
This certificate provides a goal for students seeking additional credentials (such as endorsements or coursework to support job applications for faculty development) but already have a master’s degree.
Medical Laboratory Science Certificate
This program trains students interested in pursuing the medical laboratory sciences. We offer students who have completed a bachelor of science degree and who satisfy all the prerequisites for this program. To get accepted, students must have completed a minimum of 16 semester hours of chemistry. This includes a year of general chemistry and organic chemistry and/or biochemistry. Students must have completed a minimum of 16 semester hours of biological science. The biology courses must be acceptable toward a major in biological science and must include general biology and one semester of bacteriology (microbiology). Immunology is required either as a separate course as part of another course. A minimum of one course in university-level mathematics is required.
Multi-cultural Literature
This post-graduate certificate provides a goal for students seeking additional credentials (such as endorsements or coursework to support job applications for faculty development) but already have a master’s degree.
Teaching Endorsements
Heritage University offers two competency-based endorsements: Reading and English Language Learners. Each of these endorsements contains sixteen credits of coursework. Courses are subdivided by credit into micro-credentials. For example, Reading 502 (a two credit course) is comprised of two one credit micro-credentials: History and Theory of Reading and Dyslexia. As a competency-based program, students must demonstrate mastery of each micro-credential by completing a portfolio assignment and taking a comprehensive exam.
